How it works
Every WhatsAppOS account comes with its own MCP server and REST API. This is what happens between your agent connecting and a customer answering.
Four steps
Claude or any MCP client signs in with OAuth, or uses an API key from your account. The agent discovers every action available to it and reads each one's inputs before calling it.
An admin buys a number in the app and connects it to WhatsApp. The same number sends SMS, so one workspace covers both channels.
Inside WhatsApp's 24-hour reply window the agent sends free text; outside it, a template Meta has approved. A bulk send reaches up to 500 people, each on the channel that suits them.
Customer replies are picked up every minute and filed into the right conversation. The first person to reply owns it, and anyone can hand it on.
Over MCP
The MCP server exposes the product's own actions, so an agent works under the same rules as your staff and every message lands in the same inbox.
Send messages WhatsApp or SMS into any conversation, as free text or an approved template. Pass a key and a retried call never sends twice.
Rich content Photos and files by link, locations, contact cards, quick-reply buttons and lists. On SMS, media goes as a picture message where the country supports it, and buttons become numbered replies.
Bulk sends Preview a send to up to 500 recipients, schedule it with a delay, and read back each recipient's result.
Contacts Add contacts, import up to 5,000 rows at a time, and open a chat with anyone on the list.
The inbox List conversations with their last message and unread count, and read any thread in full.
Templates List the templates Meta has approved; admin keys can also write new ones and submit them to Meta.
Guardrails
Opt-outs, the 24-hour window and template approval are checked on every send, whoever or whatever sends it. When a send is refused, your agent gets a reason it can act on.
Someone who replies STOP on WhatsApp is never sent WhatsApp again. Texting someone who unsubscribed from SMS needs a signed-in person to confirm, so no script or agent can do it.
Free text outside WhatsApp's 24-hour window comes back as 'template needed', and the agent can check the window before it sends.
Every refusal names its cause, such as opted out, template needed or number not connected, so the agent can fix the message and try again.
Also included
Read your conversations, contacts and bulk-send results as JSON with an API key, with interactive documentation inside the app.
Inside the dashboard, ask in plain English and the AI Worker takes the same actions an agent can, under the same rules.
